Therapy

Therapy is a safe route through which you can explore feelings and develop clarity of thought as part of the process of change.

Change in our lives can be scary or intimidating and therapy helps you explore old patterns and behaviours that prevent a change in order to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

We offer 60/90 minute sessions using a range of modalities including CBT, Gestalt, TA and person centred therapy, working with young people (6-18yrs) and adults.

Therapy is a safe route where you can explore feelings and develop clarity as part of the process of change. You may be experiencing one or more of the following:
• Anger
• Embracing neurodiversity
• Hopelessness
• Loneliness and isolation
• Anxiety
• Relationships – problems with intimacy,friendship/family fallouts
• Family breakdown,
• Addiction problems including substance misuse, sex and pornography, food, shopping, codependency, social networking, violence
• Sexuality
• Eating disorders
• Low confidence or esteem
• Bereavement and loss
• Domestic violence

Couples and family therapy helps people in a close relationship help each other. We do not live in splendid isolation so we explore how we are part of a bigger family system. Within any family, there are multiple relationships.

We offer couple and family therapy so all parties affected have a voice.  It enables family members, couples and others who care about each other to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in their relationships and their lives.

Research shows Family Therapy is useful for young people and adults experiencing a range of difficulties and experiences.

We believe addiction is a family illness where members are affected by their loved one’s actions. We can work with addicts and/or affected others either one to one or in a family conference to enable a way forward without blame or negativity.

Some of the things we explore our feelings, drugs and their methods of use, stigma, guilt, and shame, blame, the cycle of change and relapse, enabling/rescuing behaviour and codependency.

We also offer interventions and appropriate assessment, signposting and treatment admissions. We provide follow up sessions to build confidence and low self-esteem and help with any social skills that may have been affected during a period of illness.

Our focus is on helping you realize your aspirations for your work and your life. We want you to feel that every morning when you wake up, you are facing a day where you are doing the work that you love and find meaningful; that you feel in balance with your life’s purpose; that you are living from your brilliance; and that your daily life is true to your values.

We believe that you can structure your life to pursue your dreams and while you can’t control what will happen to you, you can control how you deal with what happens.

Find it hard to commit to weekly 1hour sessions yet have the desire for things to be different? Intensives give you the chance to really get to grips with problems and have a clearer focus as to how you are going to make changes.

These are popular as intensive work gives the opportunity to explore issues without limits on time allocated for sessions, the number of sessions in a given period, nor the need to “catch up” so much work between sessions. Our tailor-made solution focussed sessions run from 2 – 8 hours based around a particular issue.
